NoCo Auto Spa is a locally owned and operated auto detailing shop located in Old Town Fort Collins. While they offer interior and exterior detailing of cars, boats, trucks, and RV’s, they specialize in more than just that. They also specialize in Paint Protection Films or Clear Bra, Ceramic Coatings and Premium Window Tint with Carbon & Ceramic Window Tint options.
Moss Penny, one of NoCo Auto Spa owners, is an industry veteran with 10 years of experience….and well over 10,000 hours of deliberate practice which, as Malcolm Gladwell considers, is the key to success in any field. He’s detailed, protected and vinyl wrapped all types of cars, from rugged Colorado trucks to exotic and rare cars, as well as RV’s and boats.
We sat down with Moss and got the scoop on NoCo Auto Spa.
How long have you been in business?
We opened the shop in 2019. So NoCo Auto Spa is fairly new as a shop, but our team has been detailing and protecting cars for a long time in Colorado.
Describe your business in 3 words…
Detailed, Classy and Genuine. I think that nicely sums up who we are and the work we do.
What is your most popular service?
Hmmm. Well, I guess I would say window tint and clear bra, but ceramic coatings have become more and more popular as people are beginning to learn more about what ceramic coatings are.
What is a Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic Coatings utilize a nano-ceramic technology so that when applied to the exterior of your vehicle it bonds with your existing paint. This bond creates a permanent glass-like shield that is beyond durable and offers protective qualities from chemical stains, contaminants, water, and oxidation. The liquid polymer that makes up this advanced protection system also acts as a topcoat. In fact, Ceramic Coatings are similar to that of your vehicle’s existing topcoat… but they are at least 3-5 times stronger. They leave your vehicle glossy and shiny and also take away the need to ever wax again.
And want to know another thing really great and useful application for ceramic coatings?
In homes. Yep, most people do not even realize this. If they know of ceramic coatings, they think cars.
But coatings are actually a really, really great surface protectant. So think counters, appliances, floors, glass, and furniture. Ceramic coatings provide scratch resistance, anti-graffiti properties, ease of cleaning, and they add a hydrophobic (water-repelling) effect to the surfaces in which applied. They also protect against corrosion, oxidation, and build-up of dirt, grime, and scum. This means less cleaning and a longer-lasting clean.
What do you think sets you apart?
We are not only good at what we, but we genuinely love what we do. I think that sets us apart. Ya, we have a lot of experience and all that stuff, but again we actually really enjoy detailing and working on cars. A lot of people don’t love what they do. When you do, it is not only your business or what you do for work, but its fun as well. I believe that shines through to the people and the cars that we service.
